Caribbean Chutneys, Relishes and Sauces
If you come along to the Farmers' Market, you will be able to sample our range of Caribbean chutneys. These are handmade in small batches the traditional way except a lot spicier!
Handmade in small batches in Sonia's kitchen, these come in three strengths; not so hot, hot and wickedly hot for those who can take the heat. The mildest have spices only so are suitable for all tastes. Great for vegetarians and vegans.
We always have tasters at the Farmers' Market, and are more than happy for you to try before you buy!
NOT SO HOT, HOT, AND WICKEDLY HOT TOMATO CHUTNEY
Made with tomatoes, bell peppers and onions grown or bought locally in the summer months all the ingredients are simmered slowly to produce a rich, tasty chutney that will go wonderfully with so many different dishes. A good all rounder for both cooked meats and cheeses.
HOT APPLE CHUTNEY
Made with windfall apples from Highfield Park Orchard in the Autumn, our apple chutney is then given a bit of a spicy kick! If there is a poor harvest we buy any we need from the local farmers' markets we attend.
HOT SUMMER BERRIES CHUTNEY
The excess of mouth-watering berries in the summer months so nothing is wasted from our fruit patch at the bottom of of our garden. This is delicious with salty cheeses, on wholewheat rice cakes and corn cakes.
HOT TROPICAL CHUTNEY
Seasonally-made hot tropical chutney with mangoes, pineapple and bananas onions and spices for a sunny taste of the Caribbean. Lovely with strong and salty cheeses.
HOT CRANBERRY AND ORANGE CHUTNEY
Made in the winter months with juicy cranberries and oranges. Great with turkey, Christmas nut roast and cold meats and soft cheeses.
NOT SO HOT MANGO, HOT MANGO AND WICKEDLY HOT MANGO
Made with fresh juicy mangoes, this sweet spicy chutney is delicious with curries or with cold ham, chicken or game. It’s also fantastically delicious in cheese sandwiches or spread over cheese on toast. The not so hot version only contains spices which makes it suitable for those who don't like anything too spicy.
HOT BEETROOT AND WICKEDLY HOT BEETROOT CHUTNEY
Home grown locally, our beetroot chutney gives an earthy and punchy flavour to sandwiches and beautifully complements cheeses and cold meats. Scotch bonnet chillies and our blend of spices give our beetroot chutneys a fiery kick, and the sweet red onions balance the flavour. Beetroot chutney is a great way to add this superfood to your diet.
NOT SO HOT PLUM, HOT PLUM AND WICKEDLY HOT PLUM CHUTNEY
This sweet and spicy chutney combines plums, apples and spices is a delectable addition to roast meats and grilled cheeses such as halloumi. We add scotch bonnet chillies to our hot plum and wickedly hot plum chutneys so, the not so hot plum chutney can be enjoyed without any fear of it being too spicy!
We were proud to be awarded two stars by the Guild of Fine Food (Great Taste) for our chilli jam in 2018. The judges' comments were "strong scotch bonnet on the nose. Good thick texture. Beautifully cooked out. Balanced sweetness of the chilli. Not aggressive, really pleasant..."

|Traditional this hot sauce is an accompaniment to steamed or fried fresh fish, but can be used to liven up scrambled eggs. Goes well with jerk chicken or pork or used as a culinary ingredient!|
